Rest & Restore

Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP)

Gentle nervous-system support

Sonocea® Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP) is a music-based, polyvagal-informed intervention designed to support the nervous system’s restorative functions. RRP works with the dorsal vagal pathways to encourage deep down-regulation, internal safety, and bodily coherence — a gentle entry point for people who are sound-sensitive, overwhelmed by sensations, or who carry long-standing dysregulation from trauma.
It was developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the founder of the Polyvagal Theory, and Unyte USA. It uses Sonocea®, an innovative, patent-pending technology that applies sound acoustics through music to synchronize with the body’s natural biological rhythms. Visit Unyte’s pamphlet for more information.

What RRP does

  • Promotes internal calm and parasympathetic settling.
  • Supports restorative processes such as improved sleep, digestion, and a felt sense of safety.
  • Creates a contained listening environment that can help reduce hypervigilance and allow integration to unfold gradually.

RRP is distinct from ventral-focused approaches that directly target social engagement; it emphasizes inward regulation first, preparing the system to tolerate connection and more active therapies later.

Who may benefit

RRP is often appropriate for people who has:
– Trauma history
– Depression and anxiety
– Gastrointestinal and gut issues
– Sleep
– Chronic pain and fatigue
– Chronic health conditions
– Functional disorders
– And more

Because RRP is designed to be gentle, it can be a safer first step for older adults or anyone whose system needs careful titration and containment.

Safety & clinical notes

  • RRP is intended to be used under professional guidance when the client has trauma history, dissociation, or significant sound sensitivity.
  • Before starting, please share any relevant medical or hearing assessments you have; if you have cardiac or other significant medical conditions, consult your physician where appropriate.
  • We will use a titrated approach: short, monitored listening and gradual progression based on your toleration and integration. If at any point the program feels activating, we will stop and adjust the plan.

How to book

To begin, please contact via email or the booking form to arrange the mandatory pre-interview. Once the pre-interview is scheduled and fees are paid in advance, your chosen RRP App Access period will be activated and session times set.
